| Ride the trail in the Land of Crazy Horse on exclusive fully guided catered trail rides through the beautiful Pine Ridge area of northwestern Nebraska. |

WHERE: Near Crawford, Nebraska, just a five-hour drive from Denver and only two hours from Interstates 80, 90, and 25, the Pine Ridge of northwestern Nebraska is a unique area of rugged hills and canyons covered with Ponderosa pine trees and open grasslands, creek bottoms and deciduous trees. Many kinds of wildlife including whitetail and mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, coyotes, Merriams turkeys and an abundance of song birds make their homes here.
TRAIL BOSS: Jim Lees, storyteller, historian, has 25 years experience with the US Forest Service and has ridden more than 10,000 miles of wilderness trails in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Since his retirement, he has owned and operated a working cattle ranch in the Pine Ridge.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Bunkhouse style housing with hot showers, towels and bedding is provided for up to ten guests. All meals are provided and a Dutch oven supper on the evening of your arrival will kick off the ride. Hearty breakfasts, lunches on the trail, and delicious suppers are all included. You will be treated to cowboy poetry, storytelling, local history and homespun musical entertainment in the evenings and during the ride. Small, secure pastures and some tie stalls are provided for horses.THE TRAIL: Several ranchers are offering their private properties for this ride and the trail will wind over rugged hills, along bluffs and down into canyons and creek bottoms, covering approximately 25 miles over the three days. This is a remote area, and though dirt roads may be crossed, very little of the trail will be along a road. Horses should be willing to cross streams and tolerate slickers in case of rain. This is not an endurance ride, though the terrain may be a challenge for inexperienced riders.
WHAT TO BRING: Riders will furnish their own horses, tack, horse hay and feed, personal overnight items, rain gear, and water bottle or canteen. Because of safety concerns, no lug-soled boots or shoes, please. Don't forget a camera. Depending on the nature and numbers of pets, riders may be asked to leave their pets at ranch headquarters. All riders are required to sign a liability waiver.
YOUR HOSTS: Left to right, your hosts are Myrna Betson, Nancy and Gary Fisher, Dixie and Jim Lees, and Tiger.
